Biloxi for the 4th of July

We always love going to Biloxi.  It makes me happy when Amos gets to experience how I grew up.  Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins EVERYWHERE you look!!
They love him so much.  And he loves it too.  Our trips never seems long enough.
He is exhausted every time we leave.
He woke up from a nap on the way home asking for BB and LawLaw!

Swimming Fun
Brooke and Maw Maw came over to join the fun on the 4th.
Amos was not a fan of the pool, but he loved throwing everything in it for
us to get out.  We did this most of the day.  We also did a little flipping off the diving board!

Driving Skills
First he drove around the yard, then we headed on to the road and
golf course.  He thought he was BIG STUFF.

Visiting with the ducks on the golf course

Turtle Time
We found a turtle in my Mom's yard.  It was a Snapping Turtle!
Amos was very upset when we had to let it go.

I am already planning our next trip back.  Maybe the weather will be better and
we can go out longer on the boat.

1st Day of School!!!!!

Outside of his New School

I went back by his class to see how he was doing and ...
he was having fun!

Wes and I brought Amos to his 1st day of school.  He woke up bright and early ready to
go to "cool".  Papaw picked him up and the teachers said he had a great day!
And also that he was a "hugger"!
This is such a big week for him.  He started school and has his first speech session Thursday.
He is doing great since he had tubes put in.  He is saying much more!!!!
Oh, and I did not cry.  He was so happy and excited to be there and that made me happy and excited
for him!

I'm Back

So much has happened it has been hard to keep up with the blog.  I will try to recap.  Amos had his 2 year check up.  He had another ear infection!  We were sent to an Audiologist and Speech Therapist to be evaluated for his speech delay.  After Kirk(Lisa's husband) looked over the hearing test and said tubes would be very beneficial AND that he would do them if we would like,so we scheduled the surgery.  That was great news!   I brought him over to Lisa and Kirk's the night before so Kirk could look at him and Anna and Si were so cute.  Anna and Si kept saying "he can't talk because of his ears" and "Daddy is going to fix his ears".  We are so thankful that Kirk was able to do the surgery, we were so at ease. I had No anxiety what so ever.  When we got to the hospital Amos made sure EVERYONE knew why he was there by pointing to his ears! That kid cracks me up.

Bright and early in the waiting room at Children's Hospital

I have realized I am a Poor Planner

So we need to do a little catching up.
The circus was in town in February.  I thought "Oh Amos would love that"! So we picked a day and time and headed out to see The Greatest Show on Earth.
The show started at 1pm and I figured we would get our tickets there and head on in....WRONG.
Apparently this is a HUGE deal! I had no idea.    We stood outside in line for about 30 minutes  and when we got to the window we were asked if we wanted to purchase tickets to the 5:00 show?  EXCUSE ME?
Yep this one was SOLD OUT.  Wes looked at me and asked Why the Heck(to put it nicely) did you not order our ticket ahead of time ONLINE?  Oops :)
So we did not go to the circus. Some of us were not too happy after that ordeal, but Amos did get to see the animals.  They kept them outside by the sidewalk and we took a walk so he could see the elephants, horses, and tigers.  He Loved it.  So all in all it was a good day for Amos.

School Registration

Today is the BIG DAY!!!  Amos is getting registered for school!  We are very excited about this.  He will begin June 10th and go for 3 weeks.  The school  will have a short break and they will begin again in July for 3 weeks.  He will start for the fall in August.  My baby is not a baby anymore :(
His schedule will be 2 days a week from 9-1 and I think he will really enjoy it!  The past two weeks we have had to rely on our friends to help out with Amos.  We could not have made through the past  two weeks without Lisa and Brittany, so he has been around his friends more and for longer periods of time. I asked him if he wanted to go to school and play with some friends and he shook his head yes with a BIG smile.

Amazing Friends

Yesterday we received some bad news and needed a place for Amos to go while we went to be with the family at the hospital.  Of course Lisa was there for me!  I picked up Amos and brought him over to Ms Becky until Lisa got home from work.  Anna Kate was napping when we got there and he had never met Ms Becky (the nanny).  He was completely fine and he & Si began playing.
I got these picture from Lisa throughout the afternoon and evening.

He did not have his coat or hat so they had to improvise!
They played in their "play area" and went for a long walk.
(Si is 5, Anna is 3 so Anna's stuff is more likely to fit!)

When I picked him up he already had dinner and a bath.
The kids had so much fun and I heard he only got in trouble once!
He was throwing his apples at dinner.  :(

Thanks Lisa, I love you so very much!!!!!!!!!
